What Would be the audience for your media product?

 Planning Audience age.
-Straight away we aimed our product at those age 15 and upwards, eventually as pre-planning became more detailed we realized that the audience was too vague and not at all an exact demographic. We then made a few small adjustments and decided on setting our target audience age at 18-35. We done this because we felt the story line represented itself more appropriately, at least in comparison to other popular thrillers surrounding this age category, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the Bourne Identity are perfect examples of the target audience we hoped to appeal to.

 Similar Thrillers.
-Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Bourne Identity are very good examples of  the thriller audiences we hoped to replicate. As our thriller and these films have something in common (the Covert confusion mixed with struggles of everyday life of a spy) adults will find the product much more enjoyable and much easier to relate to. As our Thriller has many twists and sub plots an older audience is yet again more appropriate as they generally have a better capacity to understand what is happening but to also comprehend the protagonists life in greater detail.

Why did we choose the 18-35 age audience.
-Violence is also a theme which surfaces a few times through the story and is a main theme at the end, when the antagonist is revealed. When appealing to ages 18-35 it is imperative that our thriller remained realistic so the audience stay engaged and convinced, to do this and to match the situation the protagonist finds himself in certain features of film have to be used which make the movie age rating 18, this matches nicely to our target audience as violence and verbal cursing should be present to ensure the films realism.

We also decided to set the target audience for male consumption, this was decided upon as a very large proportion of the characters are male and the action, dialogue and plot represent more of a stereotypical male interest, this is also correlated with movies like Taken, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Bourne Identity which appeals to the 18-35 male audience.
