4) Who would be the audience for your media product? [James]

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our Audience

-Our first thoughts for our specified audience was 15 and above, this was agreed on in the per-production stage towards the end of our film when editing we then realized that age rating was too varied, this meant that we need to put a solid age rating on it.

-If we had chosen to take a normal age category to put our film into we may have chosen a category like 18-35, this is because our audience is ranged from younger teenagers to middle aged.

-The story of our film resides around our main character Terrence, this character will go and hunt down and uncover the plot to murder him and his team. from this we saw that males would be an ideal audience because the nature of our story being a dark and violent one. the fact that the characters we use are extremely brutal and very tough because of there job.

-The more tough and brutal males appear to males more because often females are more interested in a man who is quite compassionate where as males look for the toughest and the ones that show no mercy.

-We also think the our product will attract more males than females, this is because of our story and our characters, both our protagonist and antagonist are both male and our story includes a list which contain mostly male, we were not trying to be sexist but in the end most of a desired character turned out male.

-The reason we think our thriller will will attract 18-35 males is because our film is closely followed by the techniques used by newer films such as taken and Inception, all these films have a large number of males but Taken is a good example of a film that middle aged men will be more inclined to watch this is because there story is driven by a father fighting for his daughter, this improves a chance of males with family's watching our film.

-Most males find a much darker and sinister story to be much more enjoyable than females do, I think this is because hormones in males find larger amounts of violence in films to be interesting and can deal more with just senseless violence than a deep storyline

  1. This appears very rushed, and raises more questions than it answers! Seven is actually not a recent film (check the date!), but you don't in fact explain why films you've chosen appeal to males more than females. This needs more discussion, and you certainly need to say more about your own film. Again, this answer is too similar to Scott's and you need to make them more different. See comments I've made on Scott's though, as they are basically the same for you.
