With the very low budget our film would be based on it is very unlikely we would receive interest from big film companies (National or International.) or large cinema complexes, for the film to be successful and to still reach and audience demographic independent cinema's will be a good choice.
Independent local picture houses may be a good idea and picture houses like Duke Of York in Brighton may be a good venue as it is local but also subject to a large audience but local advertising will be necessary to inform potential viewers about the product.
Smaller film studio's may also be a good idea as the audience they cater for may prefer lower budget film or simply smaller picture houses, the audience will obviously be smaller but may also attract an audience which appreciates the low budget movie scene, which in turn makes the demographic more accurate.
If no interest from local independent picture houses are available it may be necessary to take the Thriller straight to DVD, In the case of a straight-to-DVD movie retail stores will be heavily relied upon as this will be the main source of distribution. We will rely heavily on big movie distributors like Block Buster, HMV and Zavvi.
With the recent arrival of online movie streaming websites such as LoveFilm, Netflix and NowTV it may be possible for our film to be viewed on these sites, unlike physical copies digital copies of our film will be much more reasonable on a smaller budget but the sites run on a selective subscription fee a month, this increases the chance for our thrillers success because more people are likely to not mind watching much smaller budget films, it is also more common to find 'straight to copy.' movies which never came out in Cinema's, these are very common on sites like LoveFilm and our thriller could easily merge into this category of distribution.
